In conjunction with the exhibition Chuck Close and Crown Point Press: Prints and Processes, this talk highlights how the disabilities of Chuck Close (b. 1940) have given his work a unique edge. Since the 1960s Close has created highly detailed, “pixelated” portraits as a means to better recognize and remember faces. Disability manifests itself about an alternative perception of the world.
